Cisco 3650 - Packages.conf is pointing to the old IOS

We have recently upgraded Cisco 3650 stack switch from 03.06.05E to 03.06.08.E. The switch was on install mode but we upgraded it using bundle mode. The switch was upgraded successfully but the member switch went into provisioned state.

We had to console access the member switch and install the configuration that was missing which brought back the member.

I noticed that the packages.conf is still pointing to the old IOS image. Since i have installed the switch using bundle mode, will it cause any implications or effect on the switch if the packages.conf is still pointing to the old IOS image?

Below are the following logs.

Before the change :

Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ----
1 52 WS-C3650-48PS 03.06.05E cat3k_caa-universalk9 INSTALL
* 2 52 WS-C3650-48PS 03.06.05E cat3k_caa-universalk9 INSTALL

After the change :

Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ----
1 52 WS-C3650-48PS 03.06.08.E cat3k_caa-universalk9 BUNDLE
* 2 52 WS-C3650-48PS 03.06.08.E cat3k_caa-universalk9 BUNDLE
