Cisco 4507 Switch port duplex message

Hi all.,

Does anyone know what is causing " Gigabit port is restricted to full duplex" while trying to hard code speed/duplex on a 4507 switch port?

This means that 1G/Half-duplex mode is not implemented in Cisco. Not only in Cat4507 but in any other switch also, despite of a fact that such a standard does exist.

Some older modules don't support setting half-duplex. Newer ones do.

As an example older module that does not support setting half-duplex = WS-X6316-GE-TX. A newer module that does = WS-X6148A-GE-45AF

Thanks Sergey and Dan. I have a pair of 4507, HSRP config (same  hardware different IOS though). The issue I have is only on the switch  with the oldest IOS release (active HSRP), when I tried to config  "duplex full".
