Hello,

As we would do on any cisco 4900M,

I have the vlan created and int vlan with an ip address and also a port on that vlan. But still when i do sh ip route for that IP, it routes to null route instead of that vlan.

Hi,

Is the vlan interface in up and up mode?

Also, can you post relevant config?

HTH

The vlan interface is not in up/ up mode. Thats the issue ! It shows down/down .

Can you post the config as well as the access port added to this vlan?

What is connected to the switch?  Do you see the MAC address?

VLAN Name                             Status    Ports

xxx  ABC                            active    Gi2/1

interface GigabitEthernet2/1

switchport access vlan xxx

switchport mode access

spanning-tree portfast

end

There is nothing connected on the interface at the moment ...

Here is the running config, with senstive IP information blotted out:

I also included the show ip route for the gateway to show the issue:

For testing, can you connect a device to port 2/1 and see if the vlan interface comes up?

Thank you everyone ! we were able to connect a test server and the port came up.
