Cisco 6504E - Rack Mouting

Dear All,

I have got 6504E switch. I just wondered that there are not rack mounting rails in the box.It has only side L brackets, I am not sure it will take the load of the switch. Anybody went through this? Any suggession.

Hi,

have a look at the Installation Guide: Installing a Catalyst 6504-E Switch Chassis

We never had problems with the standard rack mounting kits.

I guess you're missing the shelf brackets (Figure 3-25 in the same document), they are needed beginning with the 6-slot chassis.
