Cisco 6509-E IOS Update from 12.2 to 15 Code

I'm trying to update a Cisco 6509-E with dual SUP 720 MSFC3 daughterboards. The Policy Feature Card 3 is model WS-F6K-PFC3A. However, when I look at the release notes for 15 code the PFC3A is not referenced. I've had success updating 15 code on the PFC3Bs with the same setup. Has anyone had success upgrading the PFC3A to 15 code?

The last supported Release for the PFC3A was 12.2(33)SXJ. The 12.2(50)SY Release Notes list it in the Unsupported Hardware section, which means that every release after that (including all the 15.x releases) will also not support the PFC3A: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12-2SY/release/notes/ol_20679.html#pgfId-2567749 .
