Cisco 9200 switch not saving config

Hi my workmate is trying to configure one of out new Cisco 9200 switches, and he is not entirely familiar with the Cisco IOS, to that extent he issued something along the lines of a reset all command and wiped the boot image of the switch and had to reinstall the image again, he now tells me that the switch no longer retains the configuration after the switch is turned off and on, i have tried this myself and he is correct, something has changed in the boot configuration i assume when he reinstalled the boot image.

I have examined the current boot variables and i am unsure if they need adjusting or if it is something else, i see it says boot variables does not exist?

Manual Boot = no

Can you post the output of "show version"?

i have same problem but when use show version 

the config register doesn`t appears

make sure you have cofig register :  (this can be viewed when you do show version)

Configuration register is 0x102

what is the outcome when you issueor use write memory command and then either reload the switch or run the copy startup-config running-config command.

there is not any thing about "config register "

The 'Boot Variable does not exist' line is normal.

Sounds like he's told the switch to bypass the startup config when booting.

Try:

switch# no system ignore startupconfig switch all
