I have a 2 member cisco 9300 stack that I am working on that came up in reverse of the membership when it loaded. I have assigned priority and provisioned it but even with that I am seeing the following:
show switch stack-mode
Switch# Role Mac Address Version Mode Configured State
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Standby 3c8b.7f23.0780 V05 N+1' Member' Ready
*2 Active 1859.f51a.4b80 V05 N+1' Standby' Ready
When I tried to change the role I got the following warning message:
WARNING: Changing the switch role may result in redundancy mode being configured to designated Active/Standby mode for this stack. If the configured Active or Standby switch numbers do not boot up, then the stack will not be able to boot. Do you want to continue?[y/n]? [yes]: yes
Can I simply change the role of the members or is there some procedure I need to perform to ensure that the roles are changed but the stack will not run into issues when its rebooted?
If anyone here on the forums has any insight into this please let me know.
Thank you for your help.
Rgds,
Vicky

Are you using this document to change the role?

Post the complete output to the command "sh switch detail".
