Cisco ASR1002-HX power supply

We have Cisco ASR1002-HX with two power supplies, we are doing acceptance testing, one of the tests is to fail one of the power supplies to make sure that the router will work fine with one power supply without losing any packets..

Is there a way to remotely disable one of the power supplies on the ASR?

Thank you..

There is not a command to do this remotely unless the router is connected to a PDU and the PDU can be shut off remotely.

There is no way to do this, however, check the power board.  Some brands of power boards can now be powered on/off remotely.

The Cisco ASR 1001-HX Router and Cisco ASR 1002-HX Router support AC or DC power supply options. The modular chassis configurations support the installation of two power supplies for redundancy. When an external power supply fails or is removed, the other power supply provides power requirements for the chassis. This allows you to hot-swap the power supply without impacting the functionality of the router.
A router can support two AC or two DC power supplies. Do not install mixed AC and DC power supply units in the same chassis.
The power supplies used in Cisco ASR 1001-HX Router and Cisco ASR 1002-HX Router are different and they should not be mixed or swapped. The size and structural dimensions are the same, therefore they both look alike. It would be hazardous if you accidently inserted the wrong power supply into the PEM slot.
