Cisco Bug: CSCtf85481 - Sup6L-E reloads silently

Hello CISCO networkers,

I'm currently troubleshooting a couple CAT 4500-E series with the supervisor SUP6L-E that seems to fall under this bug conditions...

Unfortunetly i don't have the means to open a TAC case.

Before i order new supervisors, is there any way to be sure about this defect beeing present on the hardware ?

Thank you

Hi,

Yes, I checked few more information internally on it. As i said earlier we recommend fix on failure that means not all boards may fail due to this.

But if it is failing silently, then you need to get it replaced. Else it is okay.

Hope this clarifies.

Thanks,

Madhu.

Thank you once more

EDITED to remove attachments (sorry, client asked to do it)

Hi

I looked at the attachment and it is a match for this bug.
Please note due to variability in the hardware not all boards will fail due to
this issue.   We recommend a fix on failure.  So if it is reloading silently you may consider replacing it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

M

Hi Madhukrishnan,

Thankl you for your help. Is your observation based on anything else more then what is already described in that bugid ?

I mean, i already had managed to arrive at the conclusion that the board did match that bug prerequisites (hardware version, etc). Do you have any non official info that confirms it is affected ?

And is it normal to work well several years before it fails ?

Regards
