Cisco Catalyst 2950EI and QOS

We are looking at implementing QOS on our network and are confused on exactly what can be achieved with these switches, our supplier tells us that you can't mark outbound packtes you can only mark inbound packets but reading the 2950 docs it gives the impression that you can mark the outbound and inbound packets.

Could someone clarify which is correct, at the moment we want to classify no Cisco VOIP and Citrix?

I think the supplier is correct.

Also following features are not supported by these switches

# Non-IP protocol ACLs

# Bridge-group ACLs

# IP accounting

# ACL support on the outbound direction

# Inbound and outbound rate limiting (except with Quality of Service [QoS] ACLs)

# IP packets that have a header length of less than 5 bytes

# Reflexive ACLs

# Dynamic ACLs (except for certain specialized dynamic ACLs used by the switch clustering feature)

# Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP)-based filtering

# Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP)-based filtering
