Hi all,
Hi have deployed recently a network with cat 3650 with 802.1x, after putting the network in production we notice that all the ports are with output drops on all access switchs.
GigabitEthernet1/0/21 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
Hardware is Gigabit Ethernet, address is 5c83.8fcf.da95 (bia 5c83.8fcf.da95)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit/sec, DLY 100 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
Keepalive set (10 sec)
Full-duplex, 100Mb/s, media type is 10/100/1000BaseTX
input flow-control is off, output flow-control is unsupported
ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00
Last input 00:00:00, output never, output hang never
Last clearing of "show interface" counters never
Input queue: 0/2000/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 3349037
Queueing strategy: fifo
Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)
5 minute input rate 5000 bits/sec, 2 packets/sec
5 minute output rate 18000 bits/sec, 19 packets/sec
Does any one know if this could be related with 802.1x for layer 2 traffic(broadcast) on ports that the user is not authenticated.
I will remove the 802.1x config on a port and see if the drops stops.
IOS-XE is 03.06.03E
Thanks

Hi Patcbr600,
Wired behaviour. Could you please cleare the counters and remove the dot1x authentication from the port and check the interface status.
Then configure the dot1x authentication on the interface connect the laptop and check the status.
If you happen to see the issue agian kindly upgrade the firmware on the switch and check the status and let me know after which i can do the research and update you the answer.
HTH

Hello Patcbr600,
Were the output errors caused by 802.1x?
