Cisco IR829GW - Query on "service config" command - Does this command work anymore??

Hi

Does the "service config" command work anymore on the cisco IR829GW. My scenario is that I am factory defaulting the router and trying to load a default config using tftp. I am seeing the usual output on bootup where it broadcasts to a tftp server

Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all files! Continue? [OK]
Erase of nvram: complete
Router IOS Configuration Recovery is unsuccessful

Router Configuration Dialogue will be used

%Error opening tftp://255.255.255.255/network-confg (Timed out)
%Error opening tftp://255.255.255.255/cisconet.cfg (Timed out)

So my physical setup is a direct connection to a laptop with a tftp server running. My problem seems to be that the Ethernet port is not activating on  the router. I have tried the Ethernet ports and the G0-SFP port but neither are lighting up

I am wondering if this router is even implementing this feature anymore?

Anyone have any ideas

Thank you in advance

Hello,

I think it is still disabled by default (which means you possibly don't see it in the running config). What happens if you explicitly disable the feature:

IR829(config)#no service config
