Cisco ISR 890 keeps WAN port Shutdown

Hi,

I have Cisco ISR 890 series (System image file is "c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.154-3.M9.bin".).

I noticed recently that it started to "down" the interface GE8. GE8 is the WAN port and using DHCP.

I have checked the interface for the Admin Shutdown (did again no shut), changed cable etc, but same results. When I use this Ge8 cable to some other ports, I can see that interface get link (this means cable is not damaged).  Any thoughts ...? Below is the output of the Sh Interface GE8:

Hi,

Instead of connecting to GE8, I connected a PC (the same way if it was Ge8 port), so the pacts were in place (no direct connection to the ISP device).

Hello again,

Problem solved, thanks all for the suggestions.

Old__Full Duplex, Auto Speed, media type is RJ45

New__Full Duplex, 100Mbps, media type is RJ45

So changing the speed to 100 Mbps make the Ge8 port in up state, still with full duplex. Why I must mention speed manually? Actually I do have 2 more devices (same hardware , same ISP), and they are working fine.

Any points to remember?

Looks like they have it hard set on their end on the modem you need to match exactly their settings , may have it set to auto negotiate on there other devices , you could ask them to confirm, they should be easily able to check if they have management of the modems remotely.

Great, thanks for information.
