Cisco Nexus 2000 Series to Cisco Nexus 5000 Series connectivity with FET-10G

Can a FET-10G transceiver be used in a 5548 to connect a 2248? I was under the impression they could but when ever I put on in the 5548 it tells me that

(SFP validation failed) for that interface. Is there a config I need to make in order to get this transceiver to work in the 5548 for connectivity tot he 2248s?

As long as the 2248 is connected to the 5548 via its fabric port, not the host port, it is supported.

You should configured the 5548 ports to switchport mode fex before inserting the FET-10G.
