Cisco Nexus (5500 Series) - Configure Universal Ports and Expansion Module (Slot 2)

Hello,

if I plug in an expansion module (16 Port universal GEM2) into a Cisco Nexus (5000 Series), can I configure the port type of the new slot 2 completely independent of slot 1?

To sum it up:
Is it possible to make this configuration:
slot 1
port 1-16 type ethernet
port 17-32 type fc

slot 2
port 1-8 type ethernet
port 9-16 type fc

--------------------------------------------

Or is it only possible to make it like this (e.g.):
slot 1
port 1-24 type ethernet
port 17-32 type fc

slot 2
port 1-8 type fc

-------------------------------------------

Normally you have to configure the first block (of 2,4,8 etc. ports) with e.g. type "Ethernet" and the rest with e.g. type "Fibre Channel". You can not mix it up like 1-4 ethernet, 5-8 fc and 9-32 ethernet.
But is it the same behaviour when you have an expansion module (slot 2)?

Thanks in advance

Best regards
