Cisco Nexus 7000 ambient and working temperature

Hello all,

I have two nexus 7009 chassis fully staffed with N7K-F248XP-25 E   modules

in the environnemental condition on this link https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/nexus-7000-series-switches/data_sheet_c78-720322.html

Environmental conditions

• Operating temperature: 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C)

• Storage temperature: -40 to 185°F (-40C to 85°C)

• Relative humidity operating, noncondensing: 10 to 90%

• Relative humidity nonoperating, noncondensing: 10 to 95%

the recommanded working temperature are between 0 to 40°  degrees, in  my datacenter temperature is between 20 and 23 ° but whats is shown with the command show env, shows that i have lot of sensors in module showing that the temperture are going beyon 40° so it does mean that my chassis and card are workin in a hot environment ?

the Environmental conditions is the datacenter temperature or the temperature showed by the sensors ?

Not necessarily those are internal measurements . If you get no temperature alarms, don't worry.

Hi Marce,

Sure ? because last year i had many issue with cards temperature sensor or broken ports on the same ASIC .
look to the screenshot, a crossbar of module 4 showing 52° or the L2L3dev3 of module 3 showing 57°

Regards

Hello!

I can confirm that these temperatures look nominal. Here is output from my lab, which shows similar temperatures (if not higher in some cases):
