Hi,
We have a pair of Nexus 7010 chassis with the following modules in each switch:
1. N7K-SUP1 (Supervisor module-1X)
2. N7K-M132XP-12L (10 Gbps Ethernet XL Module)
3. N7K-M148GT-11 (10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Module) Quantity 2
4. N7K-C7010-FAB-1 (Fabric card module) Quantity 3
The switches are currently on NX-OS version 5.1(5), kick start is same version as well. We want to upgrade these switches to the latest version i-e 8.x but we have been told that due to the old modules in the switches we can only upgrade till 6.2(16). This is because we have Supervisor module 1 and Fabric module 1 and they are only supported till version 6.2.
I will really appreciate if someone can confirm the above is correct and we can only upgrade till version 6.2(16)? If this is true then can we replace these module with newer ones to enable us to upgrade? Please suggest the newer module part codes as well.
Many thank and best regards,
Ahmed

Hi
thats correct you need M3 line cards which is what 8.x supports and when your on that you cant go back to 6.2.16 it doesn't support that anymore either , heres one bundle below as example withm mods, type sup1 supports M3 cards too from what I see in the docs , there is multiple other M3 cards too if you check the website , M312s and M324s
N77-M348XP-23L - 2
N77-M324FW-25L - 1
N77-C7710-FAB-2 - 6
N77-C7710-B26S2E - 1
N77-AC-3KW - 6
N77-SUP2E - 2
