Cisco Router ISR4331 Firmware Upgradation.

We have Cisco ISR 4331 Router and that  has an old firmware isr4300-universalk9.16.12.05.SPA.bin Firmware. we need to upgrade latest Firmware, Could you please suggest me which latest firmware is suitable for this router.

Is it supportable ? because i have put isr4300-universalk9.17.03.05.SPA.bin
and all configuration has been lost.

The IOS listed here is for this router. Now, if you have loaded  9.17.03.05, and lost all the config, you may want to contact Cisco, as there may be a different issue with the router.

Also, before loading, read the release notes, and make sure your router has enough memory and flash for this IOS.

What is the operational reason to upgrade? 

Cisco Smart License starts from 16.10.X (for routers).  And one of CSL's hidden "feature" is a memory leak in the control-plane.  If this OID is not mapped, the memory leak can cause the router to crash between 18 to 24 months of continuous use (no reboot).

If there is no reason, use the latest 16.9.X firmware.
