cisco sg 95 port led issue

Hello.

Cisco SB SG95 Installation and Unique Issuue Found.

I didn't connect anything to the other side of the cable,
The Port LED lights up when the cable is connected to the switch.

Left and Right, they're both on AMBER.
If connect your PC on the other side, see Green.

What's more interesting is that cables under 5 meters do not have this effect.
This is what happens from a 10 meter cable.

Is it related to the loop protection or cable diagnostic function of the system?

The 2960 that was taken for the test did not light up under any circumstances

you are probably on the right track with your assumption that this behavior has to do with the built-in cable diagnostics and loop detection mechanisms. The fact that the LEDs turn green when a PC is connected usually means that there is activity detected on the link.

I couldn't find much more information than what the data sheet offers. It would be interesting to know if that changes with the cable category you use (5e/6/6a/7), so if you have any of those lying around, you could test if something changes...
