Cisco WS-C3560CX-8XPD-S mGig high channel Utilization SFP-H10GB-CU3M=

Hello

I'm Christian from Denmark i am 15 Years

I want to make a high performance test over Wifi with two 160 Mhz clients

1 Gbit fiber isp

cisco asa 5512x

cisco 3750x

Cisco Wlc 2504

Cisco 3802i in dual 5 Ghz mode and flexconnect

I get 940 Mbit in up and download on wired network

on wifi with a laptop with intel ax200 Connection speed 1.7 Gbit

i get 750 Mbit

When i try to make a file transfer from a server with 10 Gbit i get 600 Mbit

i wanted better results with maxium speed.

I then bought a brand new Cisco WS-C3560CX-8XPD-S, to get better results because of mGig and then i connected it to a Cisco 3750x with SFP-H10GB-CU3M= cable, then i connected a Cisco ap3802 but i don't get any speed change, but in the WLC it says that it has 5000 Mbps and then i saw the channel Utilization on the mGig port on Cisco 3560, and it was on 100%. I  can't go over 1Gbit speed with two clients, and then we tried with a Cisco 2802i with two 1Gbit links in lag, I didn't see any improvements at all.

I also tried with a Aruba ap 515 with mGig 2.5G

also  there i didn't see any improvements, Controller shows connection is 2.5G to ap

Best regards Christian Josiassen

Hello,

--> then i saw the channel Utilization on the mGig port on Cisco 3560, and it was on 100%

Post the output of:

show interfaces x

from both the 3560 and the 3750, where 'x' is (or are) the interface(s) involved in your connection..

Hello,

the output shows that none of the interfaces has any packet drops or buffer failures. Can you try and find the bottleneck by process of elimination, that is, adding devices one by one and then determine which device causes the slowdown ?

Thanks for the Quick reply

I will try only with the ap3802.

I downloaded a file from the server with a speed of 500mbit, with a connection speed of 1.7gib and 160 mhz

internet speedtest 800 mbit up and down

i only used the one mGig port and the 10 Gbit port

Why do have this high  channel Utilization on the mGig port

Will it help if i setup jumbo frames.

And how do i do that ?

Of course it'll be 100% --  that is to be expected when 160 Mhz channel bonding is turned on.

Is CleanAir enabled and find out what nearby interference is like?

i did make a test with aruba still cant get over 1gib and it is slower than a 1gib wired connection.

what is the purpose of mGig. when i get the same results on 1 gib port

I upgraded the intel driver to 21.60.2.1

clean air doesn't work with 160 mhz

With only 4 "chunks" to work with CleanAir doesn't have a lot of options.

20- or 40 Mhz channel bond sounds good.  Anything higher than that requires the APs to be installed in an area with no co-channel interference for about 100 meters around.  Heavy emphasis on radars too.

Check the switch port.  How much power is the AP doing?  If the AP is reporting 30.0w PoE (and not 29.9 or less) then there is a big chance the AP may need more than 30.0w PoE.  Because there is not a lot of power to play with, the AP is programmed to "power down" some of the features in order to be able to work with what available power is there.  One of the things the AP might do is power down mGIG.

Have a look at the power draw of the AP and then have a look at the interface the AP has negotiated to.  If the AP is connected to an mGIG port and is only negotiating to only 1 Gbps, then this is the case.

The switch says it has full power to the ap, and in the WLC it says full power
