Hi All,
I found one of my redundand stack link is down after connecting the switch. I tried changing the stack cables but no go.
Anyone encounter this problem before? Do u think its the problem with the switch. The link between 1 and 2 is having problem
#show switch stack-ports
Switch # Port 1 Port 2
-------- ------ ------
1 Ok Down
2 Down Ok
3 Ok Ok
4 Ok Ok
The switch is actually detecting the cable but the stack-port is down. Check the output of the command below.
show switch stack-ports summary
#show switch stack-ports summary
Switch#/ Stack Neighbor Cable Link Link Sync # In
Port# Port Length OK Active OK Changes Loopback
Status To LinkOK
-------- ------ -------- -------- ---- ------ ---- --------- --------
1/1 OK 4 1 m Yes Yes Yes 1 No
1/2 Down None 1 m No No Yes 0 No
2/1 Down None 1 m No No No 0 No
2/2 OK 3 1 m Yes Yes Yes 1 No
3/1 OK 2 1 m Yes Yes Yes 1 No
3/2 OK 4 1 m Yes Yes Yes 1 No

4/2 OK 1 1 m Yes Yes Yes 1 No

have you checked your logs for any signs of the stack ports flapping? If not, you'll need to do some more test to determine which one of the two that needs to be RMA-ed.

I cannot see any logs in the switch since its buffer is too small.
SO u thinks its RMA and not any configurational errors?

Stackport doesn't require any configurations.

I have this same problem. I recently added a 6th switch to a stack of 3750s and the link between the 4th and 5th switch went down:
Switch # Port 1 Port 2
-------- ------ ------
1 Ok Ok
2 Ok Ok
3 Ok Ok
4 Ok Down
5 Down Ok
6 Ok Ok
4 to 5 just went down. Didn't mess with the cable or anything, it's just gone. Swapped cables, tightened screws, nothing helps. Afraid to restart the 6th Switch, because that would kill 5, which just so happens to have several very important servers attached to it.
Were you ever able to find the problem?

I changed the switch and the stack is actually working fine now.
For another stack i changed the stacking topology and it worked.
Didnt really trace the actual issue. Suppose we need to raise some tac case for this. But no time for this anymore for me
