Can you guys help me? I am doing this class project and suppose to pretend I am a consultant and to build a company wireless network for four floors. Now they did not say how big the size of the rooms are, but please just give a recommendation as to what type of controller, APs and router would best fit this information below. Thanks
Company A has asked that you research, install and configure a Wireless network. This network should cover the entire building. There are three (3) floors each of which has four (4) offices and an open room for conferences. Each conference room has the ability to hold 100 people. The solution should be able to cover the entire building even when all three (3) conference rooms are being used.
The Project.
1. Research the make, model, price and capabilities of a Wireless solution (Router/Controller, Access Points etc.)

This is, by far, the dumbest assignment I've ever seen. Tell your professor to "get out" more.
Your assignment has one vital question missing. I'm not mentioning it here. Everyone one in the "real world" will know what one vital piece of information is required in an implementation like this. This piece of the information should've been given to you as part of the class project. If not, then your profession should "get out" more.
Another thing, what are you asking us to do? Are you asking us to do your assignment for you?
Each conference room has the ability to hold 100 people.
ROFL!

Hi Fabian,
In the real world the best way to tackle a project like this is to do a Wireless survey on the site. Only then you can recommend how may AP's and Controllers are necessery for the install. The type of kit available will be down to budget and the capabilities of the hardware again will vary depending on money.
The best thing to do, is do some research on different vendors of Wireless hardware also check out Airmagnet Wirless survey tool highly recommended in industry.

You don't begin to have enough information to design an effective and optimal wireless solution.
Wireless has many different standards, which do you need to support?
Wireless is "shared", so what's to be the supported performance for how many users?
Wireless is sensitive to building materials and their locations. Do you have floor plans including construction materials? (Wireless is also 3D.)
Wireless is also sensitive to it sharing the radio spectrum. That's why site surveys can be critical.
So, before you research wireless production solutions, you need to research the proposed wireless environment.

I agree with Joseph.
If it is true that the professor only supplied the limited (very limited) information then he/she should "get out" more often as it does NOT reflect real-world situation.
Research the make, model, price and capabilities of a Wireless solution
If this is information furnished, then whoever wrote this stupid/dumb-a$$ requirement needs to be taken out, shot, burnt to the stake and run over. The person who wrote this is a PROJECT MANAGER.
