Configuring logging on 6807 for interface down

We have a 6807 switch that we're sending traps to a syslog server from.  The interface down traps are not getting sent.  below is the logging config

logging trap notifications
logging source-interface Vlan2
logging host 10.100.XX.XX

You could check if this command helps you with it:

Within the interface configuration

(config-if)#logging event link-status

Can the switch communicate with the syslog server? Does the syslog server receive any other messages?
