Configuring SPAN and using wireshark HELP!!??

I am puzzled. I have followed all of the documentation for setting up a port on our 3750 with span but when I plug the PC with wireshark nothing happens.

So far this has been my configuratuion:

monitor session 1 source interface Gi1/0/1 - 22 rx
monitor session 1 destination interface Gi1/0/23

and I also set up gig1/0/23 as an access port.

When I plug in the ethernet cable from the PC I still get a down/down on int gig 1/0/23.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hmm so you sure you have the port in no shut state? That is not on error-disabled state? that the cable is good?, etc.
