Confused by Cisco switch offering

Hi,

we are looking into migrating our network (20 servers, 50 desktops, 4 VLANs) from 100 Mbit to Gigabit Ethernet.  There are several offerings from Cisco that I am trying to distinguish.

The SG 300-28 or 20 seem fully featured at a low price.  ESW 540 have slightly higher performance values at a substantialy higher price.  SG 200-26 specs seem ok also.

Do the 2960G switches give me any advantages that are not obvious from the spec?

  Thanks for any recommendations.

  Fabian

Hi, I suggest the following network diagram: To connect your servers can be a Catalyst 2960G switch, and host to connect a Cisco SG300-28. You can connect the Catalyst 2960G and Cisco SG300-28 over fiber. You can use a Catalyst 3560x/3750x to connect the Catalyst 2960G, and have a network of 3 layers (core, distribution and access).
