Connect ASA 5550 to Cisco 3560

Hello all,

I have a setup of a ASA 5550 connecting to a Cisco 3560 where the port on the ASA is configured to 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0  and the port on the 3560 is configured as :

interface GigabitEthernet0/23

description **Cisco ASA**

switchport access vlan 10

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 1

switchport mode trunk

spanning-tree portfast

The 3560 has vlans and ip addresses assigned to those vlans.

My goal is to get the ASA off of 192.168. Right now the 3560 port connecting to the ASA is in switchport, when I change the ASA port that connects to the 3560 to a 10.10.0.X address and it wont connect. How do I need to setup my 3560 port to connect to the ASA correctly. The native vlan is 1 which is assgined to the 192.168, Does this factor in at all? I can send some config info if anyone can assist.

I have also tried assigning the 3560 port that connects to the ASA an ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.252 and the port on the ASA to 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.252. I reroute the traffic to 10.10.0.2 but nothing happens. No internet access.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
