Connecting 4 2960 switches

Hi All,

I currently have 3 2960's connecting together using daisy chains and I'd like to add a 4th switch into the network. I have been reading that daisy chaining switches together is not the best method and would like to know if a hub&spoke/star topology would be better suited for this (Connecting 3 switches to a Main switch). I DO NOT have stacking cables or modules so I will be relying on a straight connection between switches using Cat6 cables.

This is what I was thinking too, a simple star toplogy with a main switch. Thanks for verifying.

Is a star style topology best practice for connecting multiple switches when stacking cables/modules are not involved?

A star topology should be fine. Just make sure your running spanning-tree on all of your switches to prevent loops.
