Connecting a router to two switches via fiber

Hi Guys, I'm trying to connect 1 ASR router to two switches via fiber ethernet for failover.

Essentially, i want to use two interfaces, 1 ip address, and split each connection between two switches so the router is still reachable if one switch goes down.

I just noticed that I cannot use the bridge-group command on the fiber interfaces. I've done this for UTP Gigabit interfaces for another. router.

Is Etherchannel possible across two separate switches?

Thank

Etherchannel across two switches is possible; provided you are using any of the following technologies at switch side.

vPC- Nexus 7k, 5k

VSS- Cat 6500

Stack- 3750, 2960S
