Under what circumstance,we need to use console cable to connect switch? when switch crash?

, in runing config, how to seup console password.

You would use the console cable if you want to connect to the switch using its console port rather than by connecting by an Ethernet connection.

If you want to set a password on the console it would look something like this

line con 0

password <your_password>
