I purchased a console cable from Amazon having description ' FT232R chip + ZT213LEEA, Compatible with any computer/PC with a USB 2.0 Port. FT232 series chip of ftdi company can realize the communication between USB and RS232.'
But I am unable to connect using putty software.
In device manager it shows error " THIS IS NOT A PROLIFIC PL2303. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER"
Tried installing drivers and other troubleshooting but didn't worked.
What should I do.

this is not really a Cisco question, but windows ?
by the way : you can always contact your supplier instead of the Cisco Forum
but some suggestion:
try the driver direct from FTDI (not from prolific): FT232RQ (NRND) - FTDI (ftdichip.com)
-> go to windows device manager
- right click on the error-device and open properties
- select details tab
- from the drop-down list select hardware-id
- record this hardware-id and with this hardware-id search for a suitable driver for this device
