We have a Cat 5505 with a Sup III module, but are unable to access it through the console port. We have the correct cable as we can see it booting on the output dumped to the terminal client, but it will not take any input, not even a break code. It's currently sat here showing the 'Username:' prompt, but obviously we can't do much with it!
Any ideas?

Hi Simon,
As you can see the console output so I believe cable is correct but just for the confirmation I believe you must be using straight cable and not the regular console cable?

Hi guys, we're using a straight cat5 cable and a DB9 -> RJ45 dongle. It's the only device we have that doesn't use a rollover cable, so we can't try it on anything else unfortunatly.

Simon,
Try changing the cable and the work station that you are using to get to work with. Try using some other terminal emulation program.
