Probably not to your liking. It would provide little bubbles of coverage. You may want to look at using repeaters (range extenders, etc) to cover weaker signal areas.
I'd highly recommend getting a wireless router and plugging it in a few places and walk around checking signal strengths (a primitive site survey). It will give you ideas of the weakest coverage and you can plan accordingly.
