DAI problems with PCs connected to IP Phones

Hello All,

   We have recently enabled DAI in our LAN and we have no DAI restrictions on the ports, but for some reason , DAI puts the ports in err-disable if they exceed the default rate limit of 15 pps .I don't know why these machines make more ARP traffic then the rest .

  PCs are connected to the AVAYA IP Phones .

  This issue is there only for few machines , not a general problem.

  Any idea  how to solve it , without allowing them unlimited ARP traffic?

Hello Vlad,

ARPs more than 15pps does not look legitimate.

I would run a sniffer software ( like Wireshark) on the Machine, where we have a probelm. This will give us a better insight into the problem.

Few questions to analyse.

1. What is common between the machines that have the probelm?  vlan ?  Same closet switch ?

2. Can you share your DAI and DHCP snoop config from the switch.

3. What happens if those problmatic machines are plugged directly to the ports, removing phones from the picture ?
