Hi,
One of my customers tries to enable dCEF on a 4507R. He is using:
- SupV
- 12.2(31)SGA
- 4424-GB-RJ45 and 4306-GB as linecards
But packets are still hiting the SVI counters and CPU is even higher that before.
So:
- Is there any command to enable dCEF ? I thought it was default behaviour.
- Are these linecards dCEF enabled ? I could not find that info on CCO.
Thanks for any helpfull reply :)

Enable dCEF on a line card when you want the line card to perform express forwarding so that the RP can handle routing protocols or switch packets from legacy interface processors. CEF can optimize your network performance and scalability.Refer

Thank you irisrios.
I got my answer through a colleague of mine : no dCEF capabilities for the Cat4500, although some IOS configuration guides implicitly state that it exists when looking at the "sh ip cef".

Julien.
