DHCP conflect

Hi there

I am having this issue with the dhcp not assigning ips to half the building pcs. it does after i clear the conflect on the core sw.

half pcs does not have ip until i clear the conflect. there are not many pcs so the pool is ok. pcs needs to be restared evey two day to get ip and sometimes, it does not get one.. what i did is lease infinite so that any ip got ip, will have it forever so he does not complain not having internet.

this issue happen with all vlans. and happen recently. i start thinking there may be an AP assinging ips so pcs wont get one from the core.

each of these ip in the conflect pool wont be distributed be the dhcp unless i clear it. why i am having this issue? and how do i fix it?

Hello
This is a result of the dhcp server polling a ip address before it is released and if a reply is seen it logs that ip address so it isnt released in the future , the problem with this however is that now logged ip wont ever be released
Perform the following:

- clear the ip dhcp  conflicts

- no ip dhcp conflict logging

                   or
- ip dhcp conflict resolution ( newer software)

Hello @netacaduser575395547 ,

who is the DHCP server assigning IP addresses for your hosts in different VLAN's? Is it the CORE-SW that is configured with multiple DHCP pools for every VLAN needing IP addresses?

Do you have more than one DHCP server?

Regards, LG

The core switch has multiple dhcp pools. only one dhcp
