Hi guys,

I'm beginner on network, and today i would to know, why my packet tracer don't work.

I've one router, r_core, the encapsulation are configured

My sw_core is my bridge root (stp)

Linked to this sw_core i've two sw_distrib, all of port are trunk, and one switch for my 2 access point

Linked to the two sw_distrib, i've 3 sw_access for my PC and for my DHCP

i've 5 vlan, all of vlan are configured on all switch

For my address plan,  i take 192.168.10.0 like network and i do 5 subnet

But it's more easy if u download the pkt, u can see by yourself

I write all of the pkt description on the maquette

Link for pkt :     https://www.box.com/files/0/f/264155163/1/f_5788490712         or on the attachment

Thanks for ur help, and for me it's very important to know why my pkt don't work !

have a nice day!

It doesn't work because you have incorrect DHCP scope subnet masks configured on the server. If you fix it will be just fine.

Subnet mask:

0.0.0.0 --> to 255.255.255.224

Hope it will help.

Hi,

1. You need to configure DHCP relay on the router:

(Suppose your DHCP server is 192.168.10.252)

int f0/1.160

ip helper-address 192.168.10.252

int f0/1.192

ip helper-address 192.168.10.252

2. And fix your DHCP scope with correct subnet mask. It should work.

Hope it will help.

So, i add on my router (R_Core)

int f0/1.96

ip helper-address 192.168.10.252

intf0/1.128

ip helper-address 192.168.10.252

int f0/1.160

ip helper-address 192.168.10.252

int f0/1.192

ip helper-address 192.168.10.252

int f0/1.224

ip helper-address 192.168.10.252

And i add this scope and subnet to my DHCP server

ip : 192.168.10.252

mask : 255.255.255.224

gtw : 192.168.10.253

Oh my god

I took 20 minutes to do the model and configure everything, and during four hours I have not been able to solve the problem of DHCP, which was the mask I forget I had to ...

Thanks a lot!

You're welcome! I'm glad that it helped you.

Hope it will help.
