Different netflow export profiles on cat6513 with Sup720, possible?

Hi experts,

Is it possible to have one netflow export profile (may not be the right word...) to send all the flow information to one collector and another profile to only send traffic to and from centain IP addresses to another collector? If it is possible on the hardware and software, could you please provide a quick sample config?Thanks!

Hello Difan,

With your current SUP hardware (WS-SUP720-3B /and other SUP720s), it is not possible to define multiple exporters based netflow configured interfaces or different pattern.

It is only possible to configure up to two NDE IP address, but just for redundancy purposes => Both collectors will receive the same flow information =>

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/nde.html#wp1139278

You can configure up to two external data collector addresses. A second data collector improves the probability of receiving complete NetFlow data by providing redundant data streams.

and http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/nde.html#wp1140713

=====================

However, with the introduction of SUP-2T cards Flexible Netflow is supported.

As it names indicates, it is much more flexible. The configuration commands have changed as described from figure 9-to-12 where a config example is provided => http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps708/white_paper_c11-652021.html#wp9000290

Different flow records to multiple/different exporters can then be defined.

Hope that helps.

Best regards.

Karim
