iosvl2-5#show vlan
VLAN Name Status Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
1 default active Gi0/0, Gi0/3
2 VLAN0002 active
3 VLAN0003 active
4 VLAN0004 active
29 VLAN0029 act/lshut Gi0/2
iosvl2-5#show vlan id 29
VLAN Name Status Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
29 VLAN0029 act/lshut Gi0/1, Gi0/2
This is quite counterintuitive. Ports in show vlan are access ports while ports in show vlan id are access and trunk allowed vlan ports.
imo in the command show vlan id, "id" should be interpreted as a filter thus the meaning of ports in both commands should be the same.

Vlan looks shut down , is it the same if you enable it ?

the vlan status doesn't seem to make a difference in this case
iosvl2-5#show vlan
VLAN Name Status Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
1 default active Gi0/0, Gi0/3
2 VLAN0002 active
3 VLAN0003 active
4 VLAN0004 active
29 VLAN0029 active Gi0/2
iosvl2-5#show vlan id 29
VLAN Name Status Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
29 VLAN0029 active Gi0/1, Gi0/2

Ive checked multiple layer 2 switches across diff platforms there and cannot see this issue , you could be hitting a bug unless there is something irregular in the way the ports are configured

BTW could you plesae help us were exactly r u trying all these commands?
Real switches/gears or VRIL or GNS or any other ?
delete the vlan.
creat the vlan
add the vlan to one of the active interface and you should be good to go.
