Hello ,

i have a question for DNS issue.

Scenario is :

20 hosts will be moved from a site 1 with ISP1 to the site 2 with ISP2, for some reason we cannot change anything on this 20 hosts.

ON site 2 router  i will nat the running public  ip addresses of ISP1 on new IPs ofISP2 , the problem is the DNS query, .

How can redirect the DNS request from the old dns to google dns?

Thanks

I have never tried it, but the ip helper-address covers DNS.

Hello Alex ,

i will apply this conf :

interface FastEthernet0/2
ip address xxxx xxxxx
ip helper-address 8.8.8.8
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
ip nat outside
ip virtual-reassembly
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
no cdp enable

no ip forward-protocol udp bootps
no ip forward-protocol udp tftp
no ip forward-protocol udp time
no ip forward-protocol udp netbios-ns
no ip forward-protocol udp netbios-dgm
no ip forward-protocol udp tacacs

the IP helper address should work only for port 53
