Do not see computers connected to the network -- SG200-26 26-Port Gigabit Smart Switch

Hope this is the right forum for the question

 

I got a new switch
And connected it to my router (home network)
I do not see the computers that are connected to the network

Each computer has Internet access but it is not possible to access shared folders

Something I could do with the old 100 MB switch

 

 

I thought that in default settings mode it would work
Do i need to define VLAN Or something else

if you dont manage the switch how did you give a IP address ?

I entered the graphical interface and after many searches I found the place that changes ip

 

 

No its a global command on the switch itself

I did not see a screen where you could type a command

Did you mean by using the console cable?

I went to do what you wrote to me
Then I noticed that there was no  console port

Probably when I noted that there was access to the  console port
I thought of another switch I had

 

 

Is there a page in the graphical interface
Where you can enter commands ??

use wireshark on one machine and share a folder, the connect to it from another machine while running wireshark, if you see a connection attempt then its not a network related issue.

I have shared folders
The problem is that I click on the network icon
There's nothing there
As if only one computer was connected
So there are no shared folders

it all worked with another switch

the problem start after I changed to the cisco switch

 

If I return to the old switch it works (OmniStack LS 6224)
But the old switch is 100 MB

Cisco switch does not have a special setting to be done ??
Because when I return the old switch everything works

I am not sure if the SG200 lets you add TCP and UDP services (page 258 of the attached guide). If it does, add the four ports I mentioned earlier: TCP ports 139 and 445, and UDP ports 137 and 138.

There is no option to add new ports

When you install a new smart switch
There should not be such a problem (Network sharing should work with factory default settings)
Maybe I should try to reset the switch to factory settings through the console

What is the command for this?

Good idea actually to reset the switch to factory defaults.  Go to:

 

Administration --> Reboot

 

and select

 

Reboot to Factory Defaults (page 63 of the guide)

It did not help either

Tomorrow I will try to put another Cisco switch that I have
We will see if there will be a different result

 

 

Are you running the latest firmware release, 1.1.4.1 ?

odd, as I don't see the version you have  installed at all in the download section. Can you try and install version 1.1.4.1 (attached) ?

ouch, my bad, wrong image. Either way, you could try to downgrade to the penultimate release, 1.4.8.06...
