Does 'default access VLAN' signify 'default VLAN'? (Need your verification of this term)

'CCNA Routing and Switching ICND 2 200-105 Official Cert Guide' says 'This range of VLAN IDs is known as standard range VLANs, and includes VLAN 1, which is the default access VLAN and the default native VLAN on each port.' on page 179. Does 'default access VLAN' signify 'default VLAN'?  (Need your verification of this term)

Hi

I never read this book but my guess is :
'default access VLAN' means the default vlan used on a port in access mode without vlan specified.
'default native VLAN' means the default vlan untaggued on a port in trunk mode without vlan native specified.

Yes.  Vlan 1 is the default vlan for all Cisco IOS switches out-of-the-box.  You can update the default vlan on your trunks by using the command:

switchport trunk native vlan xx

Most companies will disable Vlan 1 since some consider it a security risk leaving it up and configured as the default vlan.
