I got a new VS-S720-10G it had 122-33.SXH8b on there. I had to downgrade it to 12.2.33.SXI1 to match our other switches. I installed the file I use in all the other switches, s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI1.bin but the Sup is now is only booting up only to ROMMON mode.

Initializing ATA monitor library...

Self extracting the image... [OK]

Self decompressing the image : #################################################

################################################################################

################################################################ [OK]

%SYSTEM-1-INITFAIL: Network boot is not supported.

System Bootstrap, Version 8.5(4)

Cat6k-Sup720/SP processor with 1048576 Kbytes of main memory

Autoboot executing command: "boot bootflash:s72033-ipservices_wan-mz.122-33.SXH8

b.bin"

Loading image, please wait ...

Initializing ATA monitor library...

monlib.open(): Open Error = -13

loadprog: error - on file open

boot: cannot load "bootflash:s72033-ipservices_wan-mz.122-33.SXH8b.bin"

Exit at the end of BOOT string

rommon 1 >

How do I get the older version of IOS to load up?

Thanks

Is this a typo -

boot: cannot load "bootflash:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-isek9_wan-k9_wan-mz.122-

33.SXI1.bin"

because that image name is the not the name of the image.

Where is the new SXI image loaded to ? ie. bootflash or a compat flash card ?

Have you tried booting from rommon with the new image name ?

If you can get the system up and running you can then set the "boot system ..." variable to tell the switch which image to boot.

What is the output to the command:  "dir sup-bootflash:" or "dir sup-bootdisk:"?

The file is loaded to the bootflash

Here's the output of "dir bootflash:"

Directory of bootflash:

8602    102635044 -rw-     s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-k9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI1.bin

2      33554432  -rw-     sea_console.dat

2050    33554432  -rw-     sea_log.dat

When I do a boot s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-k9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI1.bin I get:

Loading image, please wait ...

Initializing ATA monitor library...

monlib.open(): Open Error = -13

loadprog: error - on file open

boot: cannot load "bootflash:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-isek9_wan-k9_wan-mz.122-

33.SXI1.bin"

boot: cannot load "bootflash:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-isek9_wan-k9_wan-mz.122-

Thanks for the help. It's much better when I copy/paste instead of typing.
