Cisco Catalyst 9300 is using as core switch, I am facing issue in Eigrp Protocol. I have configured AD value by using Distance  using "distance eigrp 70 70", but as I am checking the routes it is showing 252 AD Value.

Please find the logs and help in this case/

Sir Please find the output of command.

Hello @himanshudwivedi ,

post

show run | begin router eigrp

or show run section router eigrp

In addition to what has been noted by Georg that is the AD of D EX should be higher then the AD of internal routes I'm afraid there can be some command that rise the AD to 252 for all routes coming from neighbor 10.1.111.4

D EX 10.2.0.0/24 [252/257] via 10.1.111.4, 00:10:19, Vlan111
D EX 10.2.1.0/24 [252/257] via 10.1.111.4, 00:10:19, Vlan111
D EX 10.2.2.0/23 [252/257] via 10.1.111.4, 00:10:19, Vlan111

Final note: playing with AD values should be a last resort tool to be used only when really needed, for example if you have multiple EIGRP processes you may need to tune the AD on the "core" instance and on the "edge" instance(s) in any case the AD for external routes should be greater then that of internal routes for protocol stability.

Edit: I think you have multiple EIGRP processes running on this device so you need to look on all of them the routes we see can come on another process.

You should be able to add the process AS number at the end of show ip route eigrp

Hope to help

Please find the command output

Hello,

the first value changes the internal (D routes) AD, the second one the external (D EX routes) AD. I am not sure that both can be the same.

Can you for the sake of testing use:

distance eigrp 70 71

and check if that value is reflected in the output of 'show ip route' ?

you can have same values of internal and external EIGRP routes;  show ip protocols

Distance: internal 70 external 70

I tried changing the Values but no luck.... Interesting this is that after removing that distance commands then to it is taking AD value of 252/257...
