Hello all,
Is there away to disable the mulicasting of eigrp and hsrp to the end user ports on a 6509? Any information on this would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of a way to do this because 224.0.0.x multicast addresses are flooded to all ports within the vlan ie. even with IGMP snooping turned on these cannot be filtered.
You can use port based acls on the 6500 but unfortunately the can only be applied inbound which is not the direction you need to apply it in for your needs.
You could use the neighbor command for EIGRP to enable unicast updates but i'm not sure it is really worth it. The amount of traffic and size of the packets should be minimal anyway.
