awojtowicz

Level 1

i have a nexus 9504 as a core switch and 3850's in one of our schools.  my connection between these two are always going up and down.  i get Dual-5-NBRCHANGE EIGRP-ipv4 100 neighbor 192.168.254.13 is down: interface peer-termination received then i get Dual-5-NBRCHANGE EIGRP-ipv4 100 neighbor 192.168.254.13 is up: new adjacency on my 3850.  plus i see ports going up and down.

im having problems between the buildings.

here is show log

Hello,

save the config of the Nexus and reboot the device...

cant reboot the nexus.  its our core switch.  it will bring the network down.

Hello,

can you then shutdown one of the links going to one of the flapping 3850s and reboot that 3850 ?

ive rebooted the 3850 already and it didnt change anything.  its only this one stack in my network having the problem.  hell, even if I consoled in directly in console port it runs real slow.  typing goes one letter at a time.

So do you have other 3850 working as expected.

can you post below out put ( you might have posted below not found it)

Hello,

you might after all have a hardware problem (likely rather with the 3850s than the Nexus, since the 3850s are end of life and probably much older), or hopefully just a cabling problem. When you are onsite, I would start first with switching to another interface on the 3850, then change the fibre cable, and check what that results in. If there is no change, and if you have a spare switch around, connect that to the Nexus and monitor if the link still flaps.

How old are the 3850 switches anyway ?

6 years maybe.

Hello
a bug search relating to that syslog notification suggests a possible bug on the 3850
