Enable High Availability on Catalyst 6807-XL

I'm trying to enable high availability on a Catalyst 6807-XL.

Can anyone provide me with some instructions or documentation on how to enable this on the 6800?  Thanks.

The show redundancy command gives the following output:

C6807-XL#show redundancy
Redundant System Information :
------------------------------
Available system uptime = 21 hours, 41 minutes
Switchovers system experienced = 0
              Standby failures = 0
        Last switchover reason = none

                 Hardware Mode = Simplex
    Configured Redundancy Mode = sso
     Operating Redundancy Mode = sso
              Maintenance Mode = Disabled
                Communications = Down      Reason: Failure

Current Processor Information :
-------------------------------
               Active Location = slot 1/3
        Current Software state = ACTIVE
Uptime in current state = 21 hours, 41 minutes
Image Version = Cisco IOS Software, s2t54 Software (s2t54-IPSERVICESK9-M), Version 15.1(2)SY2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

                          BOOT = bootdisk:,1;
        Configuration register = 0x2102

Peer (slot: unavailable) information is not available because it is in 'DISABLED' state

Well I figured out that with the switch in its virtual (VSS) mode this works a little differently than I expected.   The documentation suggests it's possible to enable high availability if you have another 6807-XL chassis, but we only have one (with two supervisor modules).

C6807-XL#show switch virtual redundancy
                  My Switch Id = 1
                Peer Switch Id = 2
        Last switchover reason = none
    Configured Redundancy Mode = sso
     Operating Redundancy Mode = sso

Switch 1 Slot 3 Processor Information :
-----------------------------------------------
        Current Software state = ACTIVE
Uptime in current state = 2 days, 17 hours, 50 minutes
Image Version = Cisco IOS Software, s2t54 Software (s2t54-IPSERVICESK9-M), Version 15.1(2)SY2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

           Control Plane State = ACTIVE

Switch 1 Slot 4 Processor Information :

Uptime in current state = 2 days, 17 hours, 28 minutes

Is it possible to enable high availability with only one chassis?

Opened a case with TAC and found out that high availability is not supported with only one chassis when VSS is enabled.

Since the switch is currently configured in VSS, you also need another chassis  to complete the VSS for high availability.  You can have both  6807-XL chassis with one SUP2T on each switch in VSS or two SUP on each chassis, both will work for VSS. Two SUP on each chassis provides more high availability than one SUP on each chassis in VSS.  Without a second chassis the entire switch basically reloads if the primary supervisor module is pulled out (that process took about ten minutes in my case).

Below is the VSS configuration link for more information, it is also for a 6807 using a SUP2T.
