End of Life Catalyst Catalyst 3800

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew the precise EOL for the WS-C3850 series of Cisco Catalyst switches. According to the Cisco support page for this product, the last day of support is April 30, 2027, but I can see another date that states the last day of HW support is October 31, 2025.

So which date is the definitive one?

Thank you!

Both dates are right, they just mean different things. Cisco usually ends hardware support first, which is why you’re seeing October 2025. After that, if anything physical dies, they won’t ship replacements. The April 2027 date is just the tail end of software help, meaning you can still get TAC guidance or patches, but only if the hardware is still alive.

If the switch is doing anything important, most people treat the hardware cutoff as the real end of life. After that, you’re basically on your own if something breaks.

Hello,

For the last day of software support that usually includes patches and troubleshooting. For the Hardware EOL that's when you wont be able to order parts if they go bad such as power supplys.

Thank you very much to all!
