The TFTP download likely failed because you have the default gateway as the same IP address that you've assigned the router. Perhaps the default gateway should be '192.168.3.1' but your router's 'IP_ADDRESS' should be set to something else such as '192.168.3.3' for example. Give that a try and let us know if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Kevin

Kevin,

Thanks for responding.  I changed the IP for the router. The image download from tftp server completes with the below message.  The antivirus is turned off on the Win 7 box, I have changed the cross over cable from the PC to the router, I have tried different images to no avail.  Any suggestion?

"File reception completed.

TFTP copy: operation terminated due to bad checksum comparison.

Kevin,

I powered the router, with out going to Rommon mode.  The follow displays. Images that were downloaded were 5,600 and 7,100KB. Could the memory be corrupted? In rommon mode, dir command doesn't result in anything.

rommon 1 > dir

usage: dir

SYSTEM INIT: INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO BOOT THE IMAGE!

Image you used was too big for the DRAM you have.

Look for another image with lower DRAM & Flash requirement.

I can't delete the image. Upon powering up, the router tries to load the image, gives a display that there isn't enough memory.  The above goes in a constant loop.  In rommon, dir command does show any thing, see above.

The above goes in a constant loop.  In rommon, dir command does show any thing, see above.

I can't delete the image.

The correct command is "dir flash:".

rommon 2 > dir flash:

   7891164 bytes (0x7868dc)   0xdfb0    c2600-ik2s-mz.120-7.t.bin

I tried several times downloading c2600-io3-mz.122-23.bin, 5664KB image fro tftp server without success.

bad checksum comparison

Means the IOS you are using is corrupt.
