Err-disable on port 3850 -12xs switch

I'm a newbie but have a question: I upgraded my Palo (firewall ) and the port that the firewall is plugged into err-disables out. After doing a SHUT, NO SHUT the port came back to life. Any thoughts on why this happens? It seems to happen anytime I upgrade this firewall.

If you use link flap err disable this can down link' did you use link flap?

No, I have never heard of it (link flap). So if I enable this on the port
it shouldn't happen anymore? Can I set it as a global on the entire switch?
It seems that I have some research to do.

Show error disable <- share this

Lib_Route#sho errdisable ?
detect Error disable detection
flap-values Flap values for error disable detection
recovery Error disable recovery

Lib_Route#sho errdisable fl
Lib_Route#sho errdisable flap-values
ErrDisable Reason Flaps Time (sec)
----------------- ------ ----------
pagp-flap 3 30
dtp-flap 3 30
link-flap 5 10

And I found this;
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/smb/switches/cisco-350x-series-stackable-managed-switches/kmgmt2932-How-to-Diagnose-Link-Flapping-On-A-Switch.html

This answer your Q I guess.

Next time when you upgrade palo check  log in SW it sure show you reason of link down.

Goodluck
