Hi all,
I am trying to configure a 1gb port on a Nexus 9236C. I have configured the breakout 10gb port and on my Port-Channel, I have set the speed 1000. However,
PCORE01# sh int eth1/2/1
Ethernet1/2/1 is down (Transceiver speed does not match the speed configured on
the port)
admin state is up, Dedicated Interface
Belongs to Po537
Hardware: 1000/10000 Ethernet, address: 380e.4d74.f25d (bia 380e.4d74.f262)
Description: ** Port-Channel Link to RTR01 g0/2 **
So to confirm, I have the following in the config
interface breakout module 1 port 1-6,33 map 10g-4x
!
interface Ethernet1/2/1
description ** Port-Channel Link to RTR02 g0/2 **
speed 1000 ( You only get options initially for speed 10000 here but it takes it from the PO config)
channel-group 537
no shutdown
!
interface port-channel537
description ** Port-Channel Link to RTR02 g0/2 **
speed 1000
NXOS: version 7.0(3)I4(6)
It's wrecking my head !!!

Everything has been resolved and the solution was simply in the fact that I was trying to configure the 1Gb interface on a Breakout of a 40Gb interface.
So the solution is that you simply mount the SFP inside the CVR-QSFP-SFP10G module and set the speed to 1000 - Done !!!
I should point out that I also needed to upgrade the IOS version above the shipped version 7.0(3)I4(6) since that version only supported 1Gb SFP's in a SLIC adapter.

Please, could you send the output of the following commands:
sh int e1/2/1 cap
sh int e1/2/1 tran

I moved the interface from Eth1/2 to Eth1/34 so that it would not take up 6 ports
PCORE01# sh int eth1/34/1

the port)

I may have found the answer. It appears that the GLC-T needs 7.0(3)I5(1) whereas our units came factory installed with the latest recommended stable release of 7.0(3)I4(6)

Despite installing the latest 7.0(3)I7(2) version of NXOS, I'm still no further, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just in case, check if your NX-OS version is compatible with your GLC-T:

It's listed
